ABOUT

A publication of true stories, built for the scroll.

Each story is designed as a single scroll. The scroll is not just navigation: it can become the camera, the clock, the reveal and the page turn.

What this is

Awescroll publishes true stories — history, science, a person, a number — chosen because each one changes how you see something you thought you knew. Every story is one page and one screen, and the scroll is what moves it.

There is no feed, no sidebar, no “you may also like”. When a story ends, it names its sources and points you to the next one.

How a story is made

Research first: primary sources, the original reports, the archive photographs. Then a script the length of a scroll. Then a storyboard, chapter by chapter, deciding what the scene does while the words do their work. Then the build — the scene is drawn live in your browser, not filmed — and the copy is rewritten until the story reads at a scroll’s pace.

Each story is researched, designed, directed and built as an individual experience. One frame, many worlds: the frame around every story is the same; what lives inside it is not.

Editorial trust

Every story is sourced: it ends with the documents it stands on — mission logs, investigation reports, catalogue entries — and links to them where they are public.

Every story is fact-checked: each figure on screen is checked against its source before release. Where a number is rounded, a definition chosen or a date disputed, the notes say so.

Every story is human-directed: a person decides what is true, what is shown and how. Corrections are welcomed and made in place, dated, at hello@awescroll.com.

Who

Awescroll is made by Denis Milanov in Sofia. Research, writing, design and build are one desk for now, which is why the credits repeat.

Write to hello@awescroll.com — about a story, a correction, or a story that should exist.

Elsewhere

Awescroll is also on Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube: new stories when they are ready, and pieces of them along the way.
